Ahead of the upcoming panchayat and urban local body elections, the Rajasthan Government introduced ‘Yuva Suyog,’ a youth-centric program aimed at fostering sports and recognizing talent at the grassroots level. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the initiative at the Chief Minister’s Residence, emphasizing that future sports policies would be crafted based on the interests and involvement of young individuals.

The ‘Yuva Suyog’ initiative will feature sports competitions in cricket, volleyball, kabaddi, and football at the ward level in urban areas and the panchayat level in rural regions. Youngsters interested in participating will need to register on the Yuva Suyog platform to engage in these events. Chief Minister Sharma stated that the government would develop sports policies by considering the sporting activities and engagement of the youth rather than imposing policies on them.

The program aims to offer talented youth a platform to exhibit their skills and advance through a structured competitive framework. Winning teams at the ward and panchayat levels will progress to compete at the Assembly constituency level, paving the way for budding athletes to shine. Additionally, the government plans to establish a digital database of youth from every village and urban ward in Rajasthan as part of the initiative.

‘Suyog Yuva Clubs’ will be established at the district level, with registered participants automatically becoming members. These clubs will be interconnected with youth clubs at the panchayat and ward levels, creating a comprehensive network for youth involvement and sports development across the state. The pilot project for the program was initially launched in the Bagru Assembly constituency and the Baran district.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister disclosed plans to digitally map sports grounds in schools, colleges, panchayats, and urban wards to enhance sports infrastructure planning and accessibility. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to empowering youth, Sharma highlighted ongoing endeavors to expand sports facilities from villages to cities while maintaining open communication channels with young people. He noted that inputs from the youth are being integrated into state budget allocations and policy decisions.
