Rajasthan’s Minister for Local Self-Government, Jhabar Singh Kharra, stated that the state government is fully prepared to conduct panchayat and urban local body elections following the Rajasthan High Court’s recent directives.
During a visit to Ajmer, Kharra assured that the government would provide complete support to the State Election Commission for the smooth execution of the elections. He emphasized that Ajmer’s development projects would not face any financial constraints.
Kharra highlighted that the responsibility of implementing the High Court’s orders lies with the State Election Commission. He affirmed the government’s commitment to meeting all requirements specified by the Commission to ensure the elections’ successful organization.
The modern convention center, with a seating capacity of around 1400 individuals, will be equipped with top-notch facilities. Kharra, along with other officials, laid the foundation stone for this center near the Science Park and Jhalkari Bai Memorial area in Ajmer, aiming to enhance the city’s modern image and progress.
The Rajasthan High Court recently ruled that the Panchayat and urban local body elections cannot be postponed indefinitely. It extended the deadline for completing the election process until July 31, emphasizing that delays due to the pending OBC Commission report are not acceptable.
