The Rajasthan High Court has granted bail to a man accused of sexually harassing and stalking a minor girl. The court imposed strict conditions, including a one-year ban on using social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. The accused is also prohibited from contacting the victim or her family through any communication medium.
The bail plea was allowed by Justice Ashok Kumar Jain of the Jodhpur Bench in a case registered at Mukta Prasad Nagar police station in Bikaner. The accused faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. If the accused violates the social media ban, the bail order will be revoked.
The father of the minor victim filed the FIR on February 22, alleging sexual harassment, stalking, and cyber-related offenses committed by the accused. The accused was arrested on February 24, and a chargesheet has been filed. The court directed the accused to provide a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and two sureties of the same amount.
The court emphasized that the accused must not tamper with evidence, influence witnesses, engage in criminal activities, or repeat any offense punishable by law. Additionally, the accused must attend all hearings before the trial court as scheduled. Any breach of the bail conditions will lead to the cancellation of the bail.
