Rajasthan’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Jawahar Singh Bedham, spoke at a press conference in Jaipur about the encroachment and unrest in the Chomu area. Authorities are arresting individuals involved in the unrest based on video evidence and photos, taking legal action in line with regulations.
The Minister accused the Opposition Congress of engaging in politics instead of supporting lawful measures. Talks were held between the police administration and concerned parties to address permanent encroachment at the Chomu bus stand. Following the discussions, both sides agreed to remove the encroachment in the road’s center.
Late Thursday night, some troublemakers attempted to encroach on the road again by installing iron railings. When the administration intervened, the police were attacked with stones, causing injuries. The Minister assured that the situation is now under control, with continuous arrests of those causing unrest.
Those involved in the disturbances are being arrested based on evidence, with legal action taken according to the rules. The Minister emphasized that the government’s policy on encroachment removal is impartial, devoid of any religious or caste considerations. He criticized the Opposition for politicizing the encroachment eviction drive.
