Rajasthan’s Leader of the Opposition, Tika Ram Jully, has praised the recent stay order by the Supreme Court regarding the Aravalli mountain range definition. Jully described the decision as a significant win for the collective efforts of the people and environmental protection, especially amidst rising public outrage against illegal mining in the state.
Highlighting the importance of the Aravalli Range as a crucial part of Rajasthan’s identity and security, Jully criticized the mining activities under the BJP government, referring to them as a threat to this natural treasure. He emphasized the need to safeguard the Aravalli Range from exploitation and destruction.
Jully mentioned the commencement of the ‘Save Aravalli Public Awareness Campaign’ with protests and marches in Alwar, supported by citizens, activists, and the Congress party. He noted that the recent Supreme Court stay order on its previous ruling has further validated and empowered this public movement for conservation.
Expressing strong opposition to any harm to the Sariska Tiger Reserve or the Aravalli landscape, Jully likened the Aravalli Range to a mother, vowing to protect it at all costs. He assured continued efforts to ensure the full protection of the Aravalli range and Sariska, stressing the importance of preserving Rajasthan’s natural heritage.
Jully expressed confidence in the Supreme Court’s forthcoming verdict favoring the conservation of the ancient mountain range. He reiterated his commitment to safeguarding Sariska as a vital part of Alwar, promising decisive action against any threats to the ecological integrity of the region. With the Supreme Court’s involvement, Jully believes that the public’s advocacy for Rajasthan’s natural heritage has gained strength.
