Rajasthan’s Leader of the Opposition, Tika Ram Jully, criticized the state government for the deaths of children linked to tainted cough syrup. Jully accused the government of negligence and corruption, stating that innocent lives were at stake.
During a session, Jully challenged the Health Minister’s response to concerns raised by Congress MLA Harimohan Sharma, calling it inadequate and deceptive. He accused the government of protecting those responsible for the tragedy, leading to chaos in the Assembly.
Jully highlighted that the pharmaceutical company behind the deadly cough syrup had faced bans in multiple states. He questioned how the company secured contracts in Rajasthan and alleged that the same contaminated syrup distributed under a government scheme had fatal consequences.
The Opposition Leader also condemned the India–US trade agreement, labeling it a threat to India’s autonomy. Jully criticized the government’s shift from cheaper Russian oil to pricier alternatives, viewing it as an interference in India’s foreign policy decisions.
