Rajasthan Police recently executed a large-scale statewide enforcement campaign to enhance law and order and intensify surveillance on criminal activities. Directed by Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the two-day operation covered various police ranges in Rajasthan. The campaign included setting up 727 blockades and inspecting vehicles and individuals for suspicious activities.
During the operation, a total of 16,676 two-wheelers and 18,795 four-wheelers underwent scrutiny. Stringent measures were taken against traffic offenders and individuals involved in dubious actions. The police also took action against drunk drivers, issued challans for helmetless two-wheeler riders, and penalized motorists for not wearing seatbelts.
Furthermore, the crackdown targeted vehicles with irregular number plates and illegally tinted windows. The authorities registered cases for violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, totaling to 7,185 proceedings during the campaign. The Jodhpur Range recorded the highest number of cases, followed by Udaipur and Jaipur.
Apart from traffic violations, the operation also addressed issues related to illegal weapons, narcotics, illicit liquor, and unauthorized mining activities. Several First Information Reports were filed under different acts, leading to arrests and detentions of individuals involved in criminal cases. The police seized illegal weapons, country liquor, and a significant amount of black gravel used in illegal mining activities.
Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma emphasized the continuation of such enforcement drives to maintain control over crime, ensure traffic rule compliance, and enhance public security. He urged police officials to remain vigilant against suspicious activities and take swift action against offenders.
