Rajasthan’s political landscape is heating up due to remarks made by RLP leader Hanuman Beniwal targeting Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and state Cabinet members. The comments sparked strong reactions from BJP leaders who criticized Beniwal’s language and responded with a counterattack. Minister of State for Home Affairs Jawahar Singh Bedham condemned Beniwal’s statements, highlighting a widely circulated video of the Nagaur MP’s controversial remarks.
The use of inappropriate language against the Chief Minister and Cabinet ministers was deemed unacceptable by Bedham, emphasizing the need for MPs to uphold the dignity of their office and exhibit restraint in public communication. Bedham also questioned whether such statements were made under the influence of alcohol, emphasizing that such discourse would not be tolerated. BJP State President Madan Rathore labeled Beniwal’s comments as unfortunate and condemnable, stressing the importance of maintaining civility and decorum in political discussions.
Rathore emphasized that while criticism is a natural part of democracy, political dialogue should remain respectful. He called for public representatives who resort to derogatory language to be held accountable and urged the media not to sensationalize such remarks for ratings. BJP Chief Spokesperson Ramlal Sharma accused Beniwal of political opportunism and disrespect towards constitutional offices, criticizing the RLP leader’s family values and insinuating intoxication during the remarks.
The controversy unfolded during a Mahapanchayat organized to protest the proposed RIICO industrial zone in Bichoon under the ‘Remove RIICO, Save Bhairana Dham’ movement. Beniwal’s critical comments at the event, including objectionable language towards Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, have reignited tensions between the RLP and BJP in Rajasthan.
