An unchanged Rajasthan Royals team won the toss and chose to bat first against the Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 2 match at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh. The winner of this game will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Rajasthan Royals advanced to Qualifier 2 after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 47 runs in the Eliminator, while Gujarat Titans enter following a 92-run loss to RCB in Qualifier 1 in Dharamshala.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Riyan Parag mentioned that the pitch slows down towards the end, and they have the right bowlers for such conditions. He emphasized the importance of playing consistently well throughout the entire match and praised the team’s support staff for their efforts in managing recoveries and injuries.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans’ skipper Shubman Gill announced that left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore would replace Kulwant Khejroliya in the playing eleven. Gill expressed confidence in their team’s abilities, stating that the pitch behavior is unlikely to change significantly as it has already seen forty overs of cricket. He highlighted the critical nature of the match, describing it as a “now or never situation.”
