Rajasthan experienced another increase in petrol and diesel prices, with petrol rates rising by about 94 paise per litre and diesel by approximately 91 paise per litre. This recent adjustment has pushed petrol prices in Jaipur to Rs 108.91 per litre, while diesel is now being sold at Rs 94.14 per litre. Just four days prior, fuel prices had been raised by Rs 3 per litre on May 15, raising concerns about the escalating costs of transportation and household expenses.
The surge in fuel costs has raised worries among transporters and traders about potential price increases in essential commodities like vegetables, food items, construction materials, and delivery services, which could further impact inflation. Despite rumors circulating on social media and in local markets about fuel shortages, petrol companies have reassured the public that fuel and LPG supplies in Rajasthan are normal and sufficient.
Manoj Gupta, the Executive Director and Rajasthan State-Level Coordinator for Indian Oil Corporation, emphasized that fuel stocks are under constant monitoring, with prompt replenishment wherever necessary. Oil companies have urged the public to avoid panic buying, maintain regular fuel consumption habits, and disregard any false information about fuel availability.
State-Level Coordinator Manoj Gupta, Executive Director and State Head of IOCL, affirmed the stability and adequacy of the petroleum supply situation in Rajasthan. He highlighted the smooth and efficient operation of the entire fuel supply chain, from terminals and depots to retail outlets in cities and villages, emphasizing the absence of any disruptions in supply across the state. Officials have confirmed that fuel stocks in all districts of Rajasthan are continuously and closely monitored in real-time.
