Rajasthan has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first state in India to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti for the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ vision. The MoU was signed in New Delhi, with Union Minister C.R. Paatil and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma present. Chief Minister Sharma expressed thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative and emphasized the state government’s commitment to public welfare.
The agreement under the Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 is seen as a transformative step towards enhancing Rajasthan’s water-supply infrastructure. It aims to ensure that every household in the state has access to safe drinking water. Chief Minister Sharma highlighted that this initiative will significantly improve living standards, especially for women, by providing safe and convenient water access even in remote rural areas. He reiterated the government’s dedication to delivering clean drinking water to every household.
The MoU is expected to play a crucial role in providing regular and safe tap-water supply to rural households in Rajasthan. It focuses on improving service delivery, meeting time-bound targets, and enhancing transparency mechanisms. The Jal Jeevan Mission, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is being implemented with a renewed emphasis on efficiency, accountability, and transparency. The signing of this MoU marks a significant step towards achieving these goals.
