Vasudev Devnani, the Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, expressed disappointment as several MLAs who had submitted questions were missing during Question Hour. He emphasized the importance of legislators being present when their questions are scheduled for discussion. This issue arose when BJP MLA Jagat Singh was absent during the debate on the Chambal-Dholpur-Bharatpur Mega Drinking Water Project.
The Speaker highlighted the necessity for MLAs to attend the Assembly when their questions are being addressed. He instructed all legislators to be present during Question Hour or Zero Hour. Additionally, a confrontation occurred in the Assembly when Deputy Leader of Opposition, Ramkesh Meena, inquired about the status of an Ambedkar Centre and modern library project.
During the session, Education Minister Madan Dilawar clarified that there was no modern library project in progress, leading to a dispute with the Opposition. The discussion escalated when Dilawar explained that the proposal referred to a digital library, not a modern one. The Assembly is set to pass the Disturbed Areas Bill, granting the state government the authority to designate riot-affected regions as disturbed areas.
