The first phase of Census 2027 in Rajasthan is scheduled to take place from May 16 to June 14, 2026. This phase will involve a comprehensive House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) that will focus on gathering detailed information about houses, properties, and household amenities through a digital process. Citizens will have the option to submit their information online through the Self-Enumeration facility on the official Census portal from May 1 to May 15, 2026.
Approximately 1.6 lakh enumerators and supervisors will be deployed across Rajasthan for this exercise. These personnel, mostly from the Education Department, will conduct physical verification at each household even after online submissions. During the survey, officials will use a set of 33 questions to collect information on housing conditions, family members, amenities like toilets and drinking water, as well as other essential facilities.
To ensure a smooth process, extensive training is underway. State-level training has been completed by 103 Master Trainers, and 2,550 Field Trainers are currently training personnel at the district level. The final training for enumerators and supervisors is scheduled from May 1 to May 15. The entire census process will be digital, utilizing mobile applications and online platforms for data collection.
Officials have emphasized the importance of citizens providing accurate and complete information for effective policy planning. All data collected will be kept confidential and used solely for statistical purposes. Legal provisions are in place for non-cooperation or providing false information, with potential fines and imprisonment for violators. The census will be conducted entirely online, with households able to submit details through a mobile application or the official online portal.
