Rajkot is poised to be India’s inaugural “15-Minute Yoga City,” as declared by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel during the state-level celebration of the 12th International Yoga Day at Mansa in Gandhinagar district. The endeavor, facilitated by a special memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Gujarat State Yoga Board and the Rajkot Municipal Corporation, aims to ensure the availability of a yoga center within a 15-minute reach from any spot in the city.
CM Patel unveiled this initiative while partaking in the state’s official ‘International Yoga Day’ event, where more than 1.25 crore individuals engaged in yoga sessions simultaneously at over 330 locations across Gujarat.
Emphasizing the significance of integrating yoga into daily routines rather than limiting it to an annual observance, the Chief Minister urged for yoga to be a catalyst for nation-building, striving to achieve the vision of ‘Viksit Gujarat to Viksit Bharat @2047.’
