At the memorial event, Rajnath Singh met with Rana’s family members to offer his sympathies and support during this difficult time. Pushkar Singh Dhami also lauded Jaspal Rana for bringing pride to Uttarakhand and the nation through his exceptional achievements in sports. The Chief Minister highlighted Rana’s legacy as an inspiration for future generations of athletes.
The ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Uttarakhand Ministers Saurabh Bahuguna and Khajan Das. Jaspal Rana, a decorated coach and esteemed athlete, passed away in New Delhi on June 13 after a prolonged illness. His remarkable career spanned over three decades, marked by numerous accolades at national and international competitions.
Known for his exceptional performances at the Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, Rana’s legacy extends beyond his competitive success. He set records and mentored top Indian shooters like Manu Bhaker and Saurabh Chaudhary, leaving an indelible mark on Indian sports.
