Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone for the Aircraft Integration and Flight Test Centre of Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and other defence projects in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. The projects include the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program, estimated at Rs 15,803 crore, aimed at developing India’s indigenous fifth-generation fighter aircraft. This initiative is expected to create job opportunities for 7,500 individuals.

The event also marked the commencement of a new BDL Naval Systems Manufacturing Facility in Anakapalli district and the Defence Energetics Facility and Ammunition Hub in Madakasira. Additionally, groundwork ceremonies were conducted for various projects in Drone City, Kurnool.

Rajnath Singh, along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, emphasizing collaboration in defence manufacturing and aerospace innovation. The AMCA project, situated in Puttaparthi, aims to bolster India’s aerospace infrastructure and reduce reliance on external testing ecosystems.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh highlighted its efforts to position the state as a hub for high-technology manufacturing sectors. The region’s strategic proximity to Bengaluru’s aerospace ecosystem and major defence establishments enhances its appeal for aerospace investments. Andhra Pradesh has been actively fostering a conducive environment for defence manufacturing, attracting investments from prominent companies and aiming to strengthen its position in the defence and aerospace sector.
