Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with Vietnamese Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang to discuss and strengthen the partnership between their countries. They focused on enhancing cooperation in maritime security, defense industry, training, and regional stability. Singh emphasized India’s commitment to bolstering the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam.
Both leaders inaugurated a Language Lab at Vietnam’s Air Force Officers College, underscoring the importance of educational collaboration. Additionally, an MoU was exchanged in the field of AI and quantum technology, marking a significant milestone in their strategic partnership. Singh paid tribute to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s founding father, on his 136th birth anniversary, highlighting the enduring friendship between India and Vietnam.
During his visit, Singh addressed the Indian community in Hanoi, praising Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India’s progress and strength. He reiterated India’s no first use policy while affirming readiness to respond firmly to any hostile actions. Singh also showcased India’s advancements in the semiconductor sector, inviting global participation in the country’s development and investment opportunities.
Singh’s official visit to Vietnam, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, signifies the deepening ties between the two nations. This visit precedes his upcoming trip to South Korea, showcasing India’s diplomatic engagements in the region.
