Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh revealed a commemorative book on ‘Operation Sindoor’, a three-day military mission conducted from May 7 to May 10 last year in response to the Pahalgam terror attacks. The operation targeted several terror hideouts in Pakistan and inflicted significant damage on its air force bases.
The book offers insights into the courageous operation, featuring personal accounts from 100 officers, sailors, airmen, and soldiers who took part in the mission. Participants shared their firsthand experiences of the operation, detailing the precision strikes that destroyed terror bases deep inside Pakistani territory and crippled its air force assets.
Rajnath Singh praised the armed forces and personnel involved in ‘Operation Sindoor’, hailing the publication as a tribute to those who carried out the mission. He emphasized the book’s significance in showcasing the human aspect of modern warfare, highlighting qualities like leadership, courage, and commitment that contribute to strategic success.
The Defence Minister described ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a remarkable achievement, noting that India’s actions led Pakistan to request a ceasefire within just four days. The commemorative publication was launched at a ceremonial event attended by top military officials, including Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi.
