Actor Rajpal Yadav’s manager, Bhaskar Upadhyay, has confirmed that half of the amount in the financial insolvency case has been settled. Upadhyay mentioned that they requested a hearing adjournment to address the bail filed, which requires a response from the other party. He plans to meet Yadav in jail to discuss payment instructions and his views on the matter.
Upadhyay indicated that clarity on these matters is expected by Monday. He emphasized that the invested money has not been disputed, with ongoing negotiations related to a 2012 agreement. Out of the total five crores owed, two and a half crores have already been paid, awaiting the court’s decision on Monday.
For those unfamiliar, Rajpal Yadav surrendered to the police following a directive from the Delhi High Court regarding multiple cheque bounce cases. The legal issues stem from a loan taken by Yadav for his film ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ in 2010, leading to a six-month jail sentence for him and his wife in 2018. Despite temporary relief granted by the court in 2024 due to their non-habitual offender status, the debt remains unpaid, drawing criticism from the judiciary.
