The Rajya Sabha faced disruptions as the Opposition persisted in seeking a discussion on the NEET paper leak issue. Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge called for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation to facilitate a meaningful debate. Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, while addressing Rule 267 notices, emphasized the rarity of invoking such rules.

DMK MP Tiruchi Siva argued that the current NEET situation constituted a rare occasion. Efforts to restore order failed, leading to the House’s adjournment till 3 p.m. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized the Opposition’s disruptive tactics during the session.

Rijiju questioned the continuous disruptions, urging structured debates instead of sloganeering. BJP President J.P. Nadda reiterated the government’s readiness for discussions, including on NEET irregularities. The deadlock between the ruling alliance and the Opposition over the NEET issue has intensified, impacting legislative proceedings during the monsoon session.
