Ram Charan, known for his roles in Bollywood and Telugu cinema, made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with the remake of “Zanjeer” and later appeared in a song from “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan”. He emphasized his focus on Indian cinema rather than distinguishing between Hindi and Telugu films.
In “Zanjeer”, a Telugu-Hindi bilingual film, Ram Charan starred alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas as ACP Vijay Khanna seeking justice for his parents. He also had a brief appearance in Salman Khan’s “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan” song “Yentamma”.
Expressing his openness to diverse collaborations, Ram Charan stated, “I don’t know Hindi cinema or Telugu cinema. I’m doing an Indian film. I think let’s keep it that way.” He expressed interest in working with directors from various industries, including Bollywood, Bengal, and Tamil Nadu.
Ram Charan’s debut as a playback singer was in the Telugu version of “Zanjeer” with the song “Mumbai Ke Hero”. Directed by Prakash Mehra, the original 1973 “Zanjeer” featured Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, and other renowned actors. The film, a milestone in Indian cinema, marked the beginning of successful collaborations between Salim-Javed and Bachchan.
