Former Kerala Leader of the Opposition and Congress Working Committee member, Ramesh Chennithala, expressed doubts about the Special Investigation Team’s findings in the Sabarimala gold robbery case. He raised concerns about the missing gold from Sabarimala and criticized the SIT for failing to locate it.
Chennithala highlighted that the SIT had not recovered the gold stolen during the robbery. He emphasized that the amount of missing gold surpassed the 300 grams reportedly possessed by a jewelry owner. The former LoP based his statements on information provided by an industrialist.
Questioning the credibility of the SIT, Chennithala called for a thorough and unbiased investigation to uncover the truth behind the case. He criticized the composition of the SIT, alleging interference from the Chief Minister’s office and expressing suspicions about the impartiality of the probe.
Chennithala suggested that only a court-monitored CBI investigation could reveal the complete facts and restore public trust in the handling of the high-profile Sabarimala gold robbery case. The SIT has arrested 10 out of the 15 individuals charged in connection with the gold heist.
