Ranchi Royals clinched their third consecutive victory in the Men’s Hockey India League (HIL) by defeating JSW Soorma Hockey Club 4-1 in their final home game at the Marang Gomke Jagpal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi. Tom Boon scored twice (20’, 22’), with additional goals from Mandeep Singh (47’) and Manmeet Singh Rai (14’), propelling Ranchi Royals to third place on the points table. Jeetpal (52’) scored the lone goal for Soorma Club.

The match began with both teams eager to make an impact early on. JSW Soorma Hockey Club earned their first penalty corner in the initial five minutes, but failed to capitalize on the opportunity. Despite multiple penalty corners in the first quarter, Ranchi Royals’ goalkeeper Suraj Karkera thwarted all attempts. The Royals took the lead against the run of play as Manmeet Singh Rai (14’) found the net towards the end of the first quarter.

After securing the lead, Ranchi Royals gained momentum and extended their advantage. Tom Boon (20’) scored from close range, followed by another goal from a penalty corner just two minutes later. The Royals dominated the first half with a three-goal lead. In the second half, Soorma Hockey Club aimed to regain control but faced strong defense from Ranchi Royals.

Ranchi Royals sealed their victory early in the final quarter when Mandeep Singh (47’) scored the fourth goal, effectively securing their win. Despite a late goal from Jeetpal (52’) for Soorma Club, Ranchi Royals maintained their dominance and concluded their home leg with a triumphant third consecutive win.
