Actor Ranveer Singh, known for the successful ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, will headline filmmaker Jai Mehta’s upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller, “Pralay.” Recent reports suggested a delay in the project due to alleged creative disagreements between Ranveer and the director. However, an insider close to the film dismissed these claims, affirming that “Pralay” is progressing as planned.
Production for the thriller is scheduled to kick off in August this year, with pre-production activities already underway. Ranveer and Jai have finalized the script and are gearing up for a visually spectacular cinematic experience. “Pralay” is set to begin filming by August 2026, promising a unique take on the zombie genre in Bollywood.
The film, expected to be a VFX-heavy action thriller, is a passion project for the director, aiming for a grand cinematic spectacle with an estimated budget of around 300 crore. Penned by Jai Mehta and Vishal Kapoor, the movie is a collaboration between True Story Films, Maa Kasam Films, and Applause Entertainment, with Hansal Mehta as one of the producers.
Ranveer Singh is anticipated to showcase a fresh appearance in this film, deviating from his previous roles. While initial reports linked “Pralay” to the novel “Blindness,” director Hansal Mehta has refuted these claims in a recent media interaction.
