In a step to enhance internal security, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to affiliate specialized security courses. The RRU, recognized as an Institution of National Importance, will now provide academic accreditation for various training programs held at the SSB Academy.
The formal agreement, signed at the SSB headquarters in Delhi, was attended by key officials including Kalpesh H. Wandra, Pro-Vice Chancellor of RRU, Avinash Kharel, Dean of Affiliation and Accreditation at RRU, and Sanjay Singhal, Director General (DG) of the SSB, among others. Both institutions have pledged to exchange resources such as faculty expertise, teaching tools, and specialized training facilities under this partnership.
This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic research on national security and the practical needs of border guarding forces. Recently, RRU conducted a specialized “Smart Border Management” course for SSB officials, showcasing the early successes of this joint effort. RRU will offer hands-on training to SSB personnel through advanced laboratories and field workshops to enhance professional development.
Singhal, the Director General of SSB, expressed confidence in RRU’s ability to provide the required educational infrastructure for the force. The focus will be on upskilling and re-skilling officials to meet the changing demands of border management and internal security. By pooling resources and expertise, the initiative seeks to establish a robust platform for continuous professional growth within the Sashastra Seema Bal.
