The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the extension of Keki Mistry as interim part-time chairman of HDFC Bank for an additional three months. HDFC Bank confirmed that the RBI granted this extension until September 18, 2026, or until the appointment of a regular part-time chairman, whichever comes first.
In addition to the extension, HDFC Bank’s board of directors has scheduled the bank’s 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) for August 5, 2026. The AGM will be conducted via two-way video conferencing starting at 2 p.m. IST.
Furthermore, HDFC Bank announced that the dividend payment date for shareholders is set for on or after August 6, 2026, pending shareholder approval at the AGM. The bank has proposed a dividend of Rs 13 per equity share of Re 1 each for the financial year ending March 31, 2026.
Keki Mistry assumed the role of interim part-time chairman in March 2026 after the resignation of former chairman Atanu Chakraborty. His appointment was a temporary measure to ensure smooth governance while the board sought a permanent successor.
