Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting coach Dinesh Karthik commended his team for their performance, stating they made the 175-run total feel like 190 in the match against Delhi Capitals (DC). Despite the loss in a last-over thriller, Karthik highlighted the team’s fighting spirit and positive attitude throughout the game.
RCB posted 175/8 after being put in to bat, with Phil Salt scoring a quick 63. However, DC’s bowlers tightened their grip in the final phase, conceding only 29 runs in the last five overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s early breakthroughs had put RCB in a strong position, reducing DC to 18/3 in the powerplay.
Karthik acknowledged the challenging batting conditions and praised the team’s efforts, emphasizing the commitment shown by the players. He mentioned the strong bowling performance, particularly highlighting Krunal and Hazlewood’s overs, and the team’s attempt to take the game deep. Despite the late flourish by DC’s batters, Karthik remained positive about RCB’s overall performance.
RCB, holding the second position with four wins in six matches, will face the Gujarat Titans (GT) on April 24.
