Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar commended his team’s aggressive approach and fearless play following their impressive 92-run victory over Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Qualifier 1. This win secured RCB’s second consecutive spot in the final. Patidar’s unbeaten 93 off 39 balls was instrumental as RCB set a record-breaking 254/5 before restricting Gujarat Titans to 162 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium.
Patidar emphasized the team’s positive mindset and strong intent against Gujarat’s bowling attack. He highlighted the batsmen’s dominance and intent, stating that every player displayed a proactive attitude. The RCB skipper stressed the importance of maintaining attacking intent on the big stage, noting the team’s focus on body language and an aggressive mindset before the game.
RCB’s aggressive batting display, led by Venkatesh Iyer, Virat Kohli, and Devdutt Padikkal, set the tone early on. Patidar and Krunal Pandya then took charge in the middle overs, guiding RCB to a commanding total. The skipper shared his batting approach, mentioning his preference for assessing conditions initially before putting pressure on the bowlers.
Patidar also commended RCB’s bowlers for executing their plans effectively, restricting Gujarat Titans during the chase. He praised the bowlers for maintaining a disciplined line and length, which proved crucial in defending the massive total. RCB’s strategy to target Gujarat’s top order early paid off, with the team successfully dismantling the opposition’s key batsmen within the power play.
