Real Madrid has officially confirmed that team captain Dani Carvajal will be leaving the club at the end of the current season, marking the conclusion of his remarkable 23-year tenure. Carvajal, who joined the Real Madrid academy in 2002 and became a regular first-team player in 2013, played a pivotal role during one of the club’s most successful eras.
During his time with the senior squad, the Spanish right-back secured an impressive 27 trophies, including six UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga championships, and two Copa del Rey triumphs. Notably, Carvajal is one of only five players in football history to have won six European Cups.
Despite his significant contributions, Carvajal faced persistent injury challenges this season, limiting his playing time to just 21 appearances across all competitions. Consequently, both the player and the club have mutually agreed to part ways at the conclusion of the ongoing season.
Carvajal, who made a total of 450 appearances for Real Madrid and scored 14 goals, had a standout 2024 season, earning recognition in the FIFPro World XI and clinching The Best FIFA Men’s World XI award. Additionally, he was named the best player in the 2024 Champions League final after scoring a crucial goal in the title match.
