Spanish football club Real Madrid has encountered a setback as midfielder Arda Guler and defender Eder Militao are sidelined for the rest of the season due to muscle injuries. Militao sustained his injury during a recent match against Deportivo Alaves, while Guler got injured during a training session before the upcoming game against Real Betis. Both players are unlikely to return before the season ends, as reported by Xinhua.
The club’s official statement confirmed that Guler has a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his right leg. Real Madrid’s Medical Services diagnosed the injury after conducting tests on the player. Similarly, Militao has suffered a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg, according to a separate update from the club’s medical team.
Although the club did not specify a recovery timeline, such injuries typically require weeks of rehabilitation, effectively ruling out both players for the remainder of the La Liga season. Despite this setback, there is optimism regarding their participation in the upcoming FIFA World Cup. Guler is expected to be fit to represent Turkey, while Militao is likely to join Brazil for the global tournament.
