Nearly a year after the Air India AI-171 plane crash in Ahmedabad, a relative of three victims described a distressing scene at the city Civil Hospital mortuary. Romin Vohra, from Gujarat, recounted how he saw Captain Sumeet Sabharwal’s body in a poignant position with his hand still on the aircraft controls. The tragic incident occurred on June 12, shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.
Vohra, who lost his brother, niece, and aunt in the crash, shared his emotional journey of searching for survivors at the hospital. Despite his efforts to find his family members alive, he discovered that they had all perished in the tragedy. He vividly described the mortuary as filled with bodies and body parts, a haunting sight that left a lasting impact on him.
