A meeting in Ahmedabad highlighted plans to enhance tree plantation efforts under the “Gandhinagar Lok Sabha – Green Lok Sabha” initiative. Led by Amit Shah, the meeting included discussions on strengthening the campaign, which has seen over 1.5 crore trees planted in the last three years. Shah emphasized the collective responsibility of tree plantation beyond political affiliations.
Efforts to increase green cover were stressed, with Shah advocating for the planting of long-lived tree species to address environmental challenges. He urged active participation from every household in the constituency for tree maintenance and emphasized the need for sustained care over one-time planting drives. Shah reiterated the importance of immediate action to combat climate change and protect biodiversity.
Citizens, educational institutions, and various organizations were encouraged to identify spaces for plantation activities. Shah called for individual responsibility in planting and nurturing trees, envisioning a greener Gandhinagar Lok Sabha through collective efforts.
