In Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, residents are receiving daily medical care, including free dialysis, at the district hospital through the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). The beneficiaries, mainly from poor families, are availing themselves of these healthcare services at no cost, easing the financial burden on their families. Patients are expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching this initiative aimed at helping the underprivileged.
Many individuals like Kantilal from Kelod village have been utilizing their Ayushman cards for years, benefiting from free dialysis treatment since 2022 at the District Hospital. Previously, they had to incur significant expenses at private hospitals, but now all their medical needs are covered. Similarly, residents such as Sunil Chauhan from Rajaram Nagar have found relief from serious illnesses through the Ayushman scheme, which has not only treated their conditions but also alleviated financial stress.
Chief Medical and Health Officer Sarojini James highlighted that under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, patients in Dewas district are accessing free medical services at various healthcare facilities. This initiative, part of the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Scheme, is providing essential healthcare support to thousands of people in the region, particularly those from economically weaker backgrounds. The scheme, known as the world’s largest public healthcare program, offers health insurance of up to Rs 5 lakhs annually to eligible households.
