Residents in the National Capital Region (NCR) are facing relentless heat, which now persists even at night, causing discomfort. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the heatwave will continue for the next six days, with daytime temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures remaining high. The IMD warns of heatwave conditions and strong winds during the afternoons and evenings, with temperatures expected to remain around 45 degrees Celsius.
Amid the scorching heat, the Health Department is taking measures to address health issues, directing hospitals to prepare for heat-related cases. Health experts advise people to avoid going out between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., stay hydrated, wear light clothes, and protect their heads when outside. The IMD suggests that relief from the heatwave is unlikely in the near future, as temperatures continue to stay above normal, posing challenges for Delhi-NCR residents.
