Members of a right-wing group stirred trouble at Narsee Monjee College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, opposing a Valentine’s Day-themed event. They vandalized property, harassed staff, and caused fear among students. The police intervened swiftly to restore order as the activists clashed with faculty and security personnel.
The college, known for hosting various cultural events, faced opposition from right-wing factions previously during festivals like Navratri. The Valentine’s Day program triggered the latest incident, with Bajrang Dal members protesting on the campus. Law enforcement officials are investigating the matter, reviewing CCTV footage and videos to take necessary legal actions.
Despite the lack of prior police notification about the event, the college management is now under scrutiny for the chaos. Around 50 youths, some armed with sticks, barged into the campus, damaging property and engaging in heated exchanges with authorities. Following police intervention, the activists sat at the college entrance, chanting religious verses.
The Valentine’s Day celebration, organized by the college’s cultural committee, faced disruption as activists barged in, causing havoc and instilling fear among attendees. The situation has been contained by the police, who are set to proceed with further actions based on the investigation’s outcomes.
