Riya Jadon, a 17-year-old professional golfer, shone on the first day of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club in Mysuru. She finished the day at 3-under 67, securing the top spot with two birdies. Tvesa Malik trailed closely behind with a score of 68, while Anvvi Dahhiya and Vidhatri Urs also performed well with scores of 69 each.

Amandeep Drall and Karishma Govind both shot even par 70. Riya, who recently turned pro and won the IGU Pune Ladies Championship, showcased her talent by finishing tied-third in a previous event. Tvesa Malik, the eventual winner of that event, also displayed strong form with a score of 68 on the opening day in Mysuru.

On the back nine, Riya maintained her composure with a string of pars before finishing strongly with consecutive birdies. Tvesa Malik recovered from a shaky start to the day with three birdies on the back nine. Anvvi Dahhiyya and Vidhatri Urs also impressed with solid performances, each carding three birdies against two bogeys for scores of 69.

Amandeep Drall’s round included four birdies but was marred by a double bogey and two bogeys, while Karishma Govind managed three birdies and three bogeys. Neha Tripathi, Ananya Garg, Durga Nittur, and amateur Ananyaa Sood were tied for seventh place with scores of 71 each. Notable names like Vani Kapoor, Zara Anand, and Seher Atwal were also in the mix further down the leaderboard.

Ridhima Dilawari, a three-time winner this season, had a tough start with a score of 77, featuring multiple bogeys and double bogeys.
