RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha responded to the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s demand to remove Muhammad Ali Jinnah from academic curricula. Jha emphasized the importance of studying historical figures in context, questioning the rationale behind such demands.

He expressed concerns about understanding the Two-Nation Theory and the ideas that shaped the struggle for Independence if Jinnah is removed. Jha warned against distorting historical facts, stating that reshaping narratives could lead to a disservice to the country’s past.

The ABVP staged protests at the University of Jammu demanding the removal of a chapter on Jinnah from the postgraduate political science syllabus. The university administration defended the inclusion of Jinnah, citing alignment with UGC guidelines and consistency with curricula in other universities.

Led by ABVP Jammu and Kashmir secretary Sannak Shrivats, protesters gathered on campus, demanding the withdrawal of the chapter. The university administration has formed a committee to examine the issue and submit a report promptly.
