A tragic road accident in Bihar’s Araria district resulted in the deaths of two young men, one of whom was an SSB jawan. The incident occurred on the Araria-Raniganj main road near the Girhinda showroom when a speeding Bullet motorcycle collided with a parked police jeep. The deceased individuals were identified as Sudhir Kumar Kushwaha, aged 42, and Vicky Kumar Jaiswal, aged 35.

Sudhir Kumar Kushwaha was serving with the 52nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Araria headquarters. Vicky Jaiswal’s wife works as a teacher at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School in Araria RS. Both men had reportedly attended a wedding ceremony in Araria RS the previous night.

The fatal accident occurred around 1:45 am when Sudhir was dropping Vicky at the Araria bus stand on his Bullet motorcycle. The collision with the police jeep caused critical injuries to both riders, leading to their tragic demise. The injured were rushed to Sadar Hospital, Araria, where they were pronounced dead after initial medical evaluation.

Residents and police personnel swiftly responded to the scene, with the bodies now in police custody for post-mortem procedures. Traffic Police Station In-charge Prem Kumar confirmed that legal formalities are being observed, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident. Allegations of overspeeding, poor lighting, and inadequate road signage at night have surfaced, prompting calls for immediate safety improvements.
