Sonu Yadav, one of the accused in a road rage incident in Siwan, Bihar, was injured in a police encounter and later pronounced dead during treatment. The incident, stemming from a minor road dispute near Laxmipur-Aandar Dhala overbridge on April 29, resulted in the fatal shooting of Harsh Kumar Singh, nephew of BJP leader Manoj Singh, and critical injuries to Chandan Singh.
The altercation began when the victims’ parked vehicle was allegedly grazed by a speeding car, leading to a verbal dispute escalating into indiscriminate firing by the accused. Police swiftly identified Sonu Yadav and Chhotu Yadav as prime suspects shortly after the incident.
Sonu Yadav was located in the Barharia area of Siwan, where an exchange of gunfire with the police left him wounded. He was rushed to Sadar Hospital for medical care, where he was declared deceased. Yadav, who had a bounty of Rs 25,000, was involved in the fatal road rage incident.
Chhotu Yadav, another accused in the case, was apprehended by the police in an early morning encounter on Thursday, following the incident that claimed a life and left another injured. Chhotu Kumar Yadav, son of Veer Yadav from Hathaura village, was captured during a late-night operation after attempting to flee and firing at the police, resulting in injuries to his legs. No law enforcement personnel were harmed during the confrontation.
Efforts are underway to capture other individuals linked to the crime, with continuous raids being conducted to ensure all perpetrators are brought to justice. Further updates on the investigation are anticipated.
