Years later, Hollywood star Robert Pattinson still finds it puzzling how the ‘Team Jacob’ debate once split “Twilight” fans. He expressed his confusion over anyone rooting against his character Edward. In a recent interview with the French outlet Canal+, ahead of his upcoming film with Zendaya, Pattinson delved into the age-old question that surrounded the Twilight franchise.
Pattinson’s character, Edward Cullen, a vampire, was in a romantic rivalry with Jacob Black, portrayed by Taylor Lautner, a werewolf, for the love of Bella Swan. When asked about his stance on the “Team Edward or Team Jacob” dilemma, Pattinson humorously dismissed the idea of anyone supporting Jacob. He jokingly attributed the division to a mere marketing strategy, emphasizing his allegiance to Team Edward.
Zendaya, Pattinson’s co-star, also weighed in on the discussion, echoing her support for Team Edward. The banter continued as they discussed the resurgence of interest in Twilight. Jennifer Lawrence, another co-star of Pattinson, had previously shared her preference for Jacob in the books but leaned towards Edward in the movies. The Twilight Saga, a popular series of romantic vampire fantasy films based on Stephenie Meyer’s novels, began with the release of “Twilight” in 2008.
