The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) expressed confidence that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) inquiry into alleged embezzlement of donations at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple will soon see significant developments. At the conclusion of its annual meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka, the RSS leadership also conveyed deep concern over reported financial irregularities in handling offerings from the temple’s donation boxes. The meeting, attended by top RSS figures including Dr. Mohan Bhagwat ji and Dattatreya Hosabale ji, reviewed training camps held by the organization post-March 2026.
The gathering disclosed that a total of 83 ‘Sangh Shiksha Vargs’ and 12 ‘Karyakarta Vikas Vargs’ took place nationwide this year, training nearly 18,842 ‘swayamsevaks’ on various subjects such as ‘shakha’ management, rural development, disaster management, and more. Discussions centered on implementing action plans at the grassroots level, with a focus on expanding ‘shakhas’ in September. The meeting also evaluated completed centenary year programs and outlined forthcoming initiatives.
Strategies to engage individuals from centenary events in social work and transformative activities were deliberated upon. Additionally, plans for RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s upcoming travels in 2026-27 were outlined. The meeting addressed contemporary issues, including concerns about demographic imbalances and the impact of drug abuse. Participants emphasized the need for de-addiction efforts and discussed programs for Sant Shiromani Ravidas Maharaj ji’s 650th birth anniversary year.
Amidst discussions, attendees expressed sadness over reported irregularities in counting donations at the Ram Temple and expressed optimism that the ongoing SIT and police actions, initiated at the request of the Tirtha Kshetra Nyas, will lead to a resolution. The Tirtha Kshetra Nyas was urged to prevent future incidents that could undermine the faith of ‘Ram bhakts’ in the temple.
