Russian security agencies are investigating the death of Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, who was killed in a car explosion in Moscow. The explosion occurred on Yasenevaya Street in southern Moscow, resulting in Sarvarov’s death due to injuries sustained from the explosive device planted under his car. The Moscow Prosecutor’s Office is overseeing the investigation, with various theories being explored, including a possible link to Ukrainian intelligence services. Investigators and forensic experts are conducting examinations at the scene, analyzing CCTV footage, and questioning witnesses. Sarvarov, who led the Operational Training Department of the Russian Armed Forces since 2016, had received several military honors for his service. This incident follows the killing of Lt General Igor Kirillov in a bomb blast last year, with Ukraine also being implicated in that case.
