Ace Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli has shared the first glimpse of Priyanka Chopra in his upcoming movie ‘Varanasi’, portraying her character, Mandakini. Rajamouli posted two striking images of Priyanka on his social media, describing her as “Grace when she smiles. Fire when she doesn’t. Mandakini… @PriyankaChopra in #Varanasi.”
In the initial picture, Priyanka appears intense, clad in a black corset-style attire with a fierce expression, set against a warm backdrop that hints at Mandakini’s strong persona. The second photo captures a carefree and joyful Priyanka, donning a white crop top and black cargo pants, jumping mid-air with a wide smile, reflecting the grace of her character mentioned by Rajamouli.
‘Varanasi’ marks Priyanka Chopra’s first collaboration with S.S. Rajamouli and also stars Mahesh Babu. The film, initially known as ‘GlobeTrotter’, was officially announced at a grand event at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad in the presence of enthusiastic fans on November 13 last year. Priyanka plays Mandakini, Mahesh Babu portrays Rudhra, and Prithviraj takes on the role of antagonist Kumbha in the film, scheduled for an April release next year.
