Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot criticized the Central government for alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, accusing it of jeopardizing students’ futures. He demanded the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, citing the shattered aspirations of thousands of young people. Pilot highlighted the authoritarian attitude he perceived in the government’s handling of student issues.

Referring to recent protests in Delhi, Pilot condemned the government’s response to opposition leaders and students’ demonstrations. He mentioned Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi peacefully protesting outside the Prime Minister’s residence. They demanded the Education Minister’s resignation and the withdrawal of FIRs against protesting students.

Pilot emphasized that the issue transcended political affiliations, focusing on safeguarding the interests of the country’s youth. He warned that the government’s disregard for student concerns could have severe repercussions. The Congress leader criticized the BJP’s reliance on divisive politics, stating that such strategies fail to address the real issues affecting young people.

Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the matter, Pilot alleged a lack of adequate government response to incidents involving students and protesters in the national capital. He underscored Rahul Gandhi’s role as the Opposition Leader in raising student concerns and seeking accountability from the government. Pilot urged the Prime Minister to address the Opposition’s worries instead of remaining silent on a matter impacting numerous students.

The Central government has defended its handling of education-related issues, asserting the protection of the examination process’s integrity.
