Congress leader Sachin Pilot criticized the government for not engaging in dialogue with activist Sonam Wangchuk and resorting to force instead of addressing his concerns during a peaceful hunger strike. Pilot expressed surprise at the government’s reluctance to discuss Wangchuk’s demands despite the upcoming Parliament session. He mentioned that Wangchuk’s intention to march to Parliament had caused concern within the government.
Pilot highlighted the widespread public support for Wangchuk’s hunger strike, especially among the youth, and mentioned that the Congress party and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi were seeking answers from the government. He emphasized the need for dialogue rather than forcibly removing a peaceful protester.
Pilot criticized the government for its defensive approach and lack of engagement with public concerns. He pointed out that the government should have prioritized discussing and resolving the issues raised during the hunger strike. Pilot also raised concerns about education and competitive examinations, citing demands for transparency, accountability, and action against paper leaks.
Questioning the government’s response to examination paper leaks, Pilot referred to the alleged NEET paper leak and criticized the lack of accountability. He also criticized the Rajasthan government for delaying panchayat and urban local body elections, alleging that the repeated postponements reflected a lack of confidence in facing the electorate. Pilot urged the government to address public concerns through dialogue and accountability.
