After a thrilling victory over England, defending champions India secured a spot in the T20 World Cup final. Sachin Tendulkar commended the team’s positive intent in crucial knockout matches, emphasizing the significance of mindset over mere statistics. The high-scoring semifinal at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium saw India post 253/7, with Sanju Samson’s explosive batting earning him the Player of the Match title.

The intense match witnessed a total of 499 runs scored by both teams, setting a new record for the most runs in a men’s T20 World Cup game. Tendulkar highlighted the importance of a proactive approach with the bat and composed fielding under pressure. India’s formidable total of 253/7 ranks as the fourth-highest in T20 World Cup history and the highest in a knockout match.

Acknowledging Samson’s stellar performance, Tendulkar praised the wicketkeeper-batter for his early momentum-setting innings. With eyes set on the final showdown against New Zealand in Ahmedabad, India aims to achieve several historic milestones, including becoming the first host team to win the T20 World Cup and the first to secure three tournament victories. India’s upcoming final appearance marks their fourth in T20 World Cup history, a testament to their consistent performance on the global stage.
