Thailand, Hong Kong, the UAE, and Indonesia have secured spots in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup after winning their quarter-final matches in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup. These teams, having topped their groups in the league stage, continued their strong performances in the knockout rounds to secure semi-final berths and qualification for the continental tournament.
Thailand maintained their unbeaten streak with a 56-run victory over Nepal in Kuala Lumpur. Nannapat Koncharoenkai’s solid 62 helped Thailand post 130 for 4, followed by a strong bowling performance that limited Nepal to 74 for 7.
The UAE had a comfortable win against Malaysia, with Theertha Satish’s unbeaten 65 guiding them to 138 for 2. Their bowlers then restricted Malaysia to 86 for 5, securing a 52-run victory.
Hong Kong defeated Japan by 41 runs in Bangi, with Yasmin Daswani’s unbeaten 55 and key bowling contributions from Maryam Bibi and Marina Lamplough.
Indonesia dominated Oman with a massive 113-run victory, led by captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini’s 51. Oman struggled in reply, getting bowled out for just 24, with Ni Made Putri Suwandewi taking 4 for 11.
The semi-finals will feature Thailand against Indonesia and Hong Kong against the UAE in Kuala Lumpur. While the participating teams are confirmed, the schedule for the Women’s T20 Asia Cup is yet to be announced.
