Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal criticized Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for allegedly trying to divert attention from his actions against the Guru Sahiban by summoning him for questioning in an 11-year-old police firing case in Behbal Kalan, still under investigation. Badal, after a two-hour session with the Special Investigating Team (SIT), accused the questioning of being politically motivated and orchestrated by the Delhi AAP team to gain political advantage.

Badal expressed gratitude to his supporters who gathered despite heavy rain near the Punjab Police Officers Institute (PPOI) to show solidarity. He labeled the summons a diversionary tactic by the Chief Minister to shift focus from his alleged sacrilegious acts and vowed that SAD would continue to expose his wrongdoings without fear. Badal also criticized the AAP government, stating that Punjabis were eager to teach them a lesson in the upcoming Assembly elections for what he described as looting the state’s resources.

Hundreds of party supporters braved the rain to stand by Badal, who accused the Chief Minister of failing to address sacrilege incidents in the state effectively. Badal highlighted the large number of sacrilege cases in the past decade and accused Mann of committing religious crimes himself. He warned Mann against challenging the Sri Akal Takht Sahib, emphasizing that those who confront the revered institution face consequences.
