Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi are set to appear together in the upcoming streaming movie ‘Hum Hindustani’. The film is based in post-independence India, showcasing a group of officials striving against challenges to conduct the nation’s first democratic election, inspired by true events.
The creators of ‘Hum Hindustani’ emphasized the significance of the right to vote in India’s early days of independence. They expressed their pride in presenting this crucial chapter of Indian history with the grandeur it deserves, bringing director Rahul Dholakia’s vision to Netflix for audiences worldwide.
This collaboration marks the first on-screen partnership between Saif and Pratik. While Pratik has established a presence in the OTT space, Saif ventured into streaming platforms with ‘Sacred Games’ in 2018, during the nascent stage of digital content in India.
Saif returned to Netflix last year with ‘Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins’, while Pratik gained attention for his portrayal of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule in the controversial film ‘Phule’. Additionally, Saif is gearing up for ‘Haiwaan’, a project reuniting him with Akshay Kumar after nearly two decades, produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films.
