Actor Salman Khan has taken legal action by approaching the Delhi High Court to request a ban on the release of the film ‘Kaala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy.’ Khan has filed a petition in the High Court seeking to stop various individuals and entities from involvement in the production, development, and promotion of the movie. He claims that the film’s poster infringes on his personality rights and misuses his name, image, and public identity for commercial purposes without his consent.
Salman Khan has expressed concerns that the proposed film and its promotional materials could damage his reputation and legal rights by violating his personality rights. Prior to this legal move, Khan had issued a legal notice to the filmmakers demanding an immediate halt to the movie’s development and promotion. He alleged that the project appears to be inspired by his previous blackbuck hunting case, which could further harm his reputation and interfere with the ongoing judicial proceedings related to the case.
In the legal notice, it was emphasized that the blackbuck case involving Salman Khan is still pending before the Rajasthan High Court. Therefore, the movie’s release might impact the administration of justice and create bias against Khan. For context, Salman Khan and his co-actors from the film “Hum Saath Saath Hain” were accused of hunting two blackbucks in Rajasthan during a shoot in 1998, leading to legal issues and community complaints.
